Cafes, Restaurants and Dining in Perth, Western Australia.

About Us

This site has been in operation since 2000 through both quiet times and busy times. Through it all the team have attempted to bring you up to date industry news, useful reviews and great tips on the cafe and restaurant industry. We have spawned Menu Magazine a biannual magazine, and we’ve just published a recipe book to celebrate our tenth birthday. We rest comfortably under the umbrella of Eyers Rocket – and are a sister-site to the Sydney Cafes website – and are now also bringing our vision to South Australia.

Who makes it happen?

A list of the people involved with short bio.  Read on to find out more about where we come from and what we do:

Scott Arnold-Eyers (Lord of the Site)

Originally from Adelaide, Scott has now resided in Perth since 1991. He has worked in the media since 1985 for various health, entertainment and local publications. He has also dabled in a bit of TV, radio and has considerable internet experience. In a past life Scott also had a successful music career with 10 CDs under his belt and several national tours. Scott has a degree equivalent in Advertising and Marketing from his studies at Adelaide University and The Institute of Advertising.

Lauren Norton (Snr. Writer)

Lauren has a degree in journalism and loves her wine and anything with cheese. After years of not eating much in her past life as a classical ballet dancer, she is currently making the most of all that fine dining and modern cuisine have to offer!

Ingrid Rickersey (Snr. Writer)

Ingrid has a degree in journalism and is a former nurse who likes to cook up a storm with her husband Jeff, who is a chef. When they’re not cooking at home, Ingrid and Jeff are out on the town, wining and dining.

Georgina Goss (Snr. Writer)

A true rocker. Spending the majority of her life in the music industry as a musician and booking agent writing reviews and press releases. She loves to eat out but likes nothing more than the taste of words.

Frances Myshell (Snr. Writer)

Frances has been writing since 1997. She began with poetry which is still her first love. In 2006 she won a prize in Shorelines Writing for Performance Competition for her poetry. Frances has worked in waitressing and function management and has also done some catering. Her favourite food is chocolate and she is known to check out the dessert menu before anything else at restaurants!

Nic Ingram (Web Administrator)

Nic is the Office Manager and a senior writer for Menu Magazine. He has a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. Nic has always had a love for food, although going to a Zimbabwean boarding school meant good meals were few and far between! Needless to say working at Menu Magazine has exposed him to some of our city’s finest foods and best kept secrets, making him realise how good we have it here in WA!

Georgia Leaker (Reviewer)

Georgia has recently graduated with a degree in political science and history, as well as a grad cert in journalism. Her favourite thing to do is eat. Always thinking about her next meal, Georgia pours over cookbooks and food history in her free time. Georgia has lived in Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth as well as Albuquerque in the USA and her fondest memories in each city revolve entirely around food. She doesn’t understand people who don’t really care what they eat.

Dr. Kayt Davies (Snr. Writer)

Kayt has an extensive successful journalistic background. She has done almost everything, and is currently a senior lecturer at ECU.

Stewart Dawes (Co-Founder)
